EU funds and projects

_____

Port Authority of Ploče intends to use all the potentials of European Union tenders by continuously monitoring tenders, preparing project proposals, cooperating with potential partners and submitting applications. Past experience on projects can be a significant basis for creating a quality strategy towards efforts to get a significant part of the resources from EU funds.

Logistics, IT connections with other ports, usage of maritime and railway transport instead of road traffic, ecology, safety, replacement of alternative energy sources with energy efficiency solutions are areas where the Port Authority of Ploče creates its proposals.

Project in progress

PROMARES

Aim of the PROMARES project (https://www.italy-croatia.eu/web/promares) implemented from 01.01.2019 to 30.06.2021 is to address the challenges that interfere the full development of maritime and multimodal freight transport related to the program. The main activities of the project are:

  • a study of detailed analysis of each area, a training seminar and the development of a cross-border action plan, which will be tested through pilot activities
  • testing ICT solutions to simplify freight transport in ports and

intermodal logistic node

  • establishing a permanent network of cross-border cooperation from participants to policymakers

The overall objective of the project is the development of intermodal transport to the Adriatic- Ionian area. The first approach is aimed at systematically collecting and providing solutions for all bottlenecks, both at national and regional level. The multiAPPRO project will create a model that will be able to measure the impact of each new investment, in relation to the current situation, in a simple and logical way. Therefore, it will be possible to make goals and rational decisions on future investments in intermodal infrastructure throughout the Adriatic-Ionian region.

In light of all of the above, the expected results of the project include the development of two networks supporting transnational cooperation:

  1. Intermodal transport network
  2. Promotion network, including The Interpersonal Transport Connectivity Promotion Action Plan (SSS) and the Development of Motorways of the Sea (MoS) and the Strategy on the Effects of Transport
